Beauty Bay Haul

This was my first purchase from BeautyBay, and I have to say, I wasn't terribly impressed with how long it took to get to me (about a month total).  But it was free shipping from the UK to New Zealand, so it guess I shouldn't complain, just don't order if you need something in a hurry!

Skincare
Pharmagel Enzyme Excell Exfoliating Scrub - this was my most "splurgy" purchase, especially seeing I couldn't find many reviews on this brand online, but you know what late night online shopping is like, am I right?  I actually thought that this was an enzyme peel, but it's a manual scrub.  The brand promotes itself as having anti-aging qualities (and at the ripe old age of 27 that's what I'm all about) so I'm interested to see if it makes a difference in my skin's appearance.  I've only used this once so I can't give a full review yet, but the texture reminds me of the toothpaste that the dentist uses to polish your teeth with, like a really fine pumice.

Haircare
Neal & Wolf Ritual Daily Cleansing Shampoo and Neal & Wolf Guard Heat Protection - Firstly, can we just talk about how this stuff smells??  The write up on the BeautyBay website says that the scent "was created by the perfume house behind some of the world's finest scents".  It's very luxurious... deep, musky, with vanilla and cassis notes - it smells very high end; like a perfume I would want to wear out on a dinner date.  I've used these products once as well, the shampoo feels very cleansing, although it is aimed at a daily shampoo, I felt like it was quite clarifying.  I didn't notice a huge difference in using the heat guard, but honestly, even if this did nothing for my hair in terms of protection I would just wear it as a hair perfume.  Love it.

Makeup
After what I like to refer to "Mascaragate 2013" - where I had a crazy bad reaction to the L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes mascara I decided to go for some higher end mascaras.  So I purchased the Urban Decay Lush Lashes mascara and the Too Faced Queen Sized mascara.  I haven't tried either of these out but from the reviews I've read on MakeupAlley they sound really good if you're like me and enjoy mascara's with large wands (i.e. the Revlon Grow Luscious mascara - one of my favourites!).

Overall I was pretty happy with the service from BeautyBay, and most importantly the prices were really affordable compared to what we pay in New Zealand....I may have my eyes on a few other things on the site! #EssentialBeauty
